Overview

Oracle Solaris 10 NIC Overclock – In order to get better network reaction time we overclock the NIC speed.
This is mostly useful when using Oracle SRSS – Sun Ray Server Software or Oracle VDI.

How to overclock Solaris 10 NIC

In order to overclock Solaris 10 NIC we need to set a higher hz rate for the NIC

Change NIC settings in:

/etc/system

Add the next lines or Change default values if they exist:

set hires_tick=1
set hires_hz=10000

 

Restart the server.

 

You can see the difference when loading JDS with a Sun Ray Client.
